Overview

Pioneering Smart Agriculture

Smart Farming is an ambitious research project funded under the EU Erasmus+ programme. Our mission is to develop and demonstrate cutting-edge artificial intelligence solutions that empower farmers to make data-driven decisions, optimize resource usage, and build more sustainable food systems.

The project focuses on developing an autonomous decision-making mechanism using drone-based agronomic data and location-specific environmental parameters. By combining expertise in machine learning, GIS, remote sensing, and agronomy, we create practical tools that minimize human intervention while maximizing efficiency and sustainability.

Germany, Romania, Austria, and Turkey are major agricultural producers in Europe, each with different precision agriculture focus areas - from reducing resource use to improving crop quality. Our consortium brings together expertise from all four countries to create comprehensive solutions.

Our Goals

Multi-faceted objectives addressing technological advances and social/environmental challenges in precision agriculture.

Develop AI-Driven Crop Monitoring

Develop an autonomous decision-making mechanism for precision agriculture enabling efficient, data-driven decision processes.

Optimize Resource Usage

Implement precision agriculture techniques to reduce water, fertilizer, and pesticide consumption.

Build Decision Support Tools

Develop farmer-friendly applications that provide actionable insights based on AI analysis.

Ensure Sustainability

Promote sustainable agricultural practices using energy-efficient technologies, precision irrigation, and waste reduction measures.

Knowledge Dissemination

Share findings through seminars, scientific articles, multiplier events, and educational materials in multiple languages.
